Preservice Workshops
Efforts to improve adolescent literacy must be linked with other secondary education preparation activities. These workshops foster an understanding of why this is so and give preservice educators the tools—books, sample syllabi, teaching resources—they need to emphasize adolescent literacy in their courses.

This institute emphasizes inclusive course planning and the implementation of Strategic Instruction Model™ Content Enhancement Routines designed to ensure content-area mastery of critical ideas and concepts by all students. Participants will explore several routines in sufficient depth to enable them to infuse the routines into their courses.
